About Me

Hi.  My name is Cynthia Oberdier, Licensed Massage Therapist-Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, Certified Lymphatic Therapist with Complete Decongestive Therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki Master, Certified Holistic Health Coach, Certified Kinesio-Taping Therapist, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, Certified Level I Breathologist, and Certified GuaSha and Cupping.

I received my education through the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Westerville, Ohio.  After completing the 750 hours of massage instruction, sat for the State of Ohio Medical Board examination and obtained Licensure for Massage Therapy.  My education includes Swedish (relaxation) massage, Neuromuscular Massage Therapy, Myofascial Release, Postural Assessment, Treatment Planning and Implementation for Pain and Dysfunction (NMT Plus) deep tissue massage, as well as acupressure and trigger point therapy.  My education is ongoing adding certifications in Evidence Based Massage For Fibromyalgia, Medical Massage:  Low Back Disorders, Disc Herniation, Lumbalgia, Sciatic Nerve Neuralgia, Post-Isometric Relaxation & Back Rehabilitation, A Therapeutic Approach to Stone Massage with CoreStones, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Proactive, Non-Surgical Approach, Hands on Help for Headaches: Reducing Frequency & Intensity, Complete Decongestive Therapy to include Manual Lymph Drainage-Compression Bandaging-Skin Care-Exercise Protocol for Lymphedema, Kinesio-Taping Therapy, Cupping, Gua Sha.

While at AIAM, I had the pleasure of learning Qigong from Helen Yee, one of the founders of AIAM.  This was a wonderful experience and great introduction to energy work.  I additionally studied the three levels of Reiki outside of AIAM and obtained my Reiki Master Certification.  Reiki is a healing energy form of massage that helps align the Chakras of the body and allows for energy flow within the body. 

I received my American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) Board Certification for Holistic Health Practitioner in 2011 from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York.  While there, studied over 100 various dietary plans, as well as anatomy and physiology and how nutrition feeds our bodies, either good or bad and the dis-eases poor nutrition puts on the body.  I am currently involved with functional medicine and steer my health in that direction to rid my own body of toxins and assist others in doing the same.  "Let food be they medicine and medicine be thy food." -Hippocrates

Additionally, I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years with 7+ years in nursing homes and 14+ years in hospital both transcription and med/surg floor as a patient care technician, working along side doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other medical staff.
